Locked out of the office....

I know I can't homemake everything Pottery Barn sells. The pottery, the lamps, the  quilts...but a good portion of the insanely overpriced art look extremely diy friendly. The problem is finding the perfect supplies.

Here are some examples that I might attempt to make with a few small tweaks

Seriously-$39.00 for books with their covers torn off with a piece of twine? Goodwill 25 cent books here I come...

Take away the advent part-and this would make a very cute calendar-if I can find straight branches I am sure I can remake this for less than $200

Empty large picture frame, wires and clips-add your favorite family photos. Again, certain I can remake for less than $200

For all you pottery barn/restoration hardware "window shoppers"

If you have a handy husband, or you are(or can be) handy yourself....check out knock-offwood

Austin made me a table-Samantha and I did help with the "antiquing" of the wood-but other than that...it was all Austin :) Quite good for a first timer.

All-in-all, this table cost us about 80 bucks-and that is with an entire can of paint spilled....the caster's were the most expensive-they were $40 bucks. This table is sold at Pottery Barn for $500. Take that you overpriced store-I can have your stuff now on the CHEAP.

Now we have a list:

Dining Table
Side Tables
Guest Bed
Our Bed
Outdoor Table/benches

Srsly. This Ana girl is a badass...she need to have her own DIY show.

PS

IT IS GOOD TO BE HOME!

Elmo, Ernie and PINK!

I had this idea...because Samantha loves Elmo and Ernie so much, I was going to help her learn her colors by using them. Elmo is red and Ernie is orange. Well...it kinda backfired on me...well not kinda, it did. Everything red is "Elmo" and everything orange is "Ernie" I have been trying and trying to get her to call them by the correct name...but no. Good job mom.

Well, yesterday, I painted her fingernails and toenails pink. She holds up her little hand and says "pink" Yay! My efforts are not in vane!! She knows the correct name for a color!

To her credit-blue, purple, yellow and other non elmo/ernie colors are named correctly when I work with her. lol!

She is getting so big...we made cookies yesterday. Oatmeal raisin cookies. She poured all the dry ingredients into the mixing bowl and waited patiently when I mixed them together. She dropped the cookies onto the pan and watched them bake. I just can't believe that two years ago she couldn't even hold her head up! Now she talks, sings, dances and pee pees in the potty!!! Amazing!

Instead of telling us "No" when she doesn't want to do something, she says "No Way! No Way!" Pretty funny...I have to try very hard not to laugh at her.

She sleeps with her Teddy(the one you gave her Michelle!) and her baby doll. And! She has been napping in her big girl bed! Very cool.

I just want to snuggle her all day!

Sam's 2nd Birthday

Umay's mom made the birthday hats! Very cute!

For those of us that didn't want to stain our mouths red ;)
Elmo cupcakes!

They are so sweet together! Umay is moving in two months! Sam will miss her!

The whole group! Umay's family to the far right, Cammi(my friend from work) and her two kids in the middle, Penny, Anna, Emily and Whitney to the far left. Austin was at the store!

Cupcake time!

"its my party and i'll cry if I want to!" Poor thing has chapped cheeks, red icing on her chin and fell off her trike the day before and has a big bruise on her other cheek. This picture was around 3pm and she had not had a nap all day :) She only had a five second melt down...not bad!
