Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Haven't updated in awhile! Sorry! I sign on and read everyone's....but then I neglect my own blog :)

Samantha had a great Christmas and birthday! She got all kinds of great toys! Legos, shopping cart, stroller, wooden food and baking set, Elmo Tricycle, tonka trucks the list goes on. And she LOVES everything. She says "Mommy, Dadda! Come! Play" its sooo cute.  She also bakes. She gets her little mixing bowl, pours from the measuring cup and makes the pouring sound, then stirs it, then licks the whisk. Its adorable. She is adorable.

She calls Austin and I "hunny" Yesterday, I was in the bathroom and not answering her. She was calling "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy!" she stopped and then called "Hunny! Hunny!" Like maybe I would answer to that instead. Austin just about died!

She LOVES the "Boom Boom Pow" song by Black Eye Peas. She says " I want my Boom Boom"  Also, "gotta get that...boom boom boom" Cracks us up!!!

She is really talking. Its amazing!

We had her little birthday party yesterday. I made her Elmo cupcakes and she had her friends over. She played and played and played...and then crashed. Success :)

Susan, Austin's mom, sent Sam some hair clips as one of her gifts. She got them here http://www.sosweetnsassy.com/ if you have a little girl you MUST go to this sight. They are so pretty! I just l.o.v.e. the clips.

I miss all of you!! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and that your New Year is fun too :)

Weekend Recap

The skies have opened up-so we had a pretty soggy weekend. We were going to take Sam to the pumpkin patch again. But it was just too wet-she already has a runny nose and we didn’t want it to get worse. So, we went to check out some of those portable DVD players for our trip to visit the parents next week. A five hour plane ride with a 22 month old has got to be fun. Right?? I traveled with her at three months-that was GREAT all she did was sleep. Ever since she has been crawling(four/five months old) traveling has been quite exhausting-try keeping a bundle of energy in one place for five hours-you have to constantly entertain!! Basically, I am hoping that a portable DVD player will save my sanity.

Sunday was a declutter our house day. Pretty uneventful weekend, but we made some yummy chili and watched a few games. Pretty good weekend J

mom stuff

Samantha loves Penny-I know I should be eternally grateful that I have such a wonderful person to watch our little girl and that Sam adores her. Don’t get me wrong, I count my blessing every single day- but, every day I have to fight this intense feeling of guilt and jealousy. I am jealous of the woman that watches our child. Jealous of the 9-10 hours a day she gets to spend with my little girl. Jealous of the meal times, snack times, play times, craft times, cuddle times and all the cute things I miss. I get, at most, two hours of good time with Samantha at night. Most of that time is spent making dinner and getting ready for bed. I miss her so dang much ALL week.
Penny lives across the street from us…so every morning I walk her across the street and then I walk back home. She waves and blows kisses as I walk back. I can’t help but wonder if she thinks I take her over there and then just go back home and hang out without her….
In a perfect world I would be the one kissing her booboos and fixing her lunch. For now, I need to focus on how sweet and perfect the time I do get to spend with her is.

my girlie girl

This morning when Austin took Sam over to Miss Penny's, she saw one of those big yucky spiders on Penny's porch. She said to Austin "I want that" Austin said "that's a spider" she then said "Ewwwwww"

good girl.

Welcome back cold toes and super high power bills

So it seems that the cold weather is here. Samantha LOVES her fleece-already its become as necessary as her shoes before leaving the house. She is so cute.

She has really started liking Elmo. It was pretty much out of the blue. One day while I was getting ready for work she looks at me and says "I want Elmo" I haven't a clue how she picked up on it...she probably only watched Sesame Street 2-3 times and maybe has one or two small Elmo related toys. Somehow...she ended up LOVING Elmo. So, we got her a little Elmo doll that sings the Alphabet-she gets frustrated because his shoes dont come off. lol! And we got her a little Elmo movie so I dont have to fast forward through all the Non Elmo parts of Sesame Street :)

She really is a sweet kiddo-she says please and thank you. She told Miss Penny that she loved her mommy and dadda. Made my heart melt when I heard that :) She LOVES her molly dog and her baby dolls. She loves to read books..although she reads faster than I do-and I read pretty fast ;) its more like she loves turning the pages of books really fast and seeing how many books she can read in one night.

She has the sweetest little voice I have ever heard! Everyday something cute and hilarious comes out of her mouth and I love it :)

She wore an....

I am all for a cute bikini. And not that this really matters since we live in WA and probably wont even go swimming. But try carrying a toddler around in a two piece. Its not fun worrying if your top is going to get pulled the wrong way.

I actually got excited when I read the headline "Hooray!! The one-piece bathing suit is back" Maybe I am just old. Maybe I should not be so excited about the fact that the one-piece is back. But I don't care...I think they are cute, chic and I am going to get one this year(if i go swimming) http://beauty.ivillage.com/

Dear New Neighbors

Thank you for your nice introduction a few months ago saying that you want to be good neighbors and to let you know if there is ever a problem. Although we do appreciate this gesture, we all know that you didn't mean it. I wish you did. I would march right over to your house and ask you ever so politely to please shut your yappy little dog up. The constant barking keeps my child from napping, wakes us up at night and quite frankly just annoys the hell out of us while we are working in our yard.

Also, you guys are extremely loud people in general. Do you really have to shout from outside to people inside? I don't care if you are going to the store, so just walk your happy ass inside and tell whomever it is that you are trying to communicate with directly. Thankyouverymuch.

And about the monster truck that you have parked outside in my half of the yard. What the F are you thinking. Just so you know you have killed my grass in four areas where your tires have been for the last week. I would like to let you know that I am calling the city tomorrow and you will probably have ticket. Its illegal to park there anyway.  Sorry. Please get off of my lawn.

Sincerely,

Bethany Watson

tub o' baby

I really wish that I had seen this when Samantha was tiny. She never really liked laying down in the baby tub once she got past 2 months.
She probably would have loved sitting up in this tub! Not to mention the cute photo ops it would have given me ;)
The concept really does make sense. The tub keeps the baby warm and snuggled. Which is what they love. Warm and snuggly. Well...until they learn how to crawl/walk. Then they love to be independent and only want snuggles when they are tired.

Mommy's little helper!!

Isn't she just adorable?!

ok ok ok...so I put the watering can in her hand so I could take pictures...and then she ripped the petals off of my tulips.

But in twenty years when we are looking at old pictures that won't matter! What will matter is that she is cute, smiling and her hair is in pig-tails.

I will take one order of sunshine please!

sigh. another soggy day. I want the sun back!

Even with all these soggy days I STILL have to dig up my Japanese Maple this weekend and take it back to Lowes because it is dead/dying. I believe it has a fungus that was aquired before me. It is not my fault this tree is dying.
Since I believe that my tree has a root fungus, I cannot replace it with a new one...because then the next tree will catch the nasty fungus.
The forcast says that there will be five minutes of sun this weekend so maybe I will have time ;)

Austin started his new job this week. I am very grateful that he has found a job "in this economy" but...I wish that it was not in Portland. What are Sam and I going to do without our buddy all week?? We are going to be missing him. Weekends will have to do.... :(
